My kids and I are mosquito magnets and sadly are also really allergic to the bites. We have a lot of mixed feelings about Spring and Summer, because those seasons don't just mean delicious fruits and vegetables and maybe beach time, but also the labor of insect repellent, hydrocortisone cream, daily antihistamine medication and a general sense of paranoia when we leave the house.
This year, I decided that we would try to find something like a wearable mosquito net and discovered Mozzie suits, a far more appealing wearable mosquito covering than anything else I've seen in the internet. We managed to snag the last ones in our sizes, just before the mosquito population really soared.
We've had a chance to try out the mozzie suits about two times and they have definitely prevented mosquito bites for us!
The tight weave that prevents the mosquitoes and no-see-ums from getting through also greatly reduce air flow, so there's definitely heat retention on the really hot, breezeless days but it's otherwise pretty comfortable to wear. My oldest child observed that the material can be "poky," but I have learned that a few washes of the suits may lead to some softening.
All in all, a win for our family, and the staff were great to work with when we were trying to order the suits!
I loved the mosquito jacket. I took it with me to Panama on a mission trip and got no mosquito bites. The jacket was comfortable and breathable.
I bought a black Mozzie jacket and I haven't had occasion to use it yet, since it's still winter here, but I put it on and it looks and fits great. I also looked at the mesh fabric with a magnifying glass and it's an interesting matrix and pattern of very fine threads. It looks like it should keep the mosquitoes out very effectively. I'm looking forward to using it often this spring and summer.
Haven’t worn them yet, so can’t give a review. Fit is a little big, but it looks well made.
We have terrible black fly and biting midges in the spring and the Mozzie gear is going to make a big difference when doing yard work.
